    I'm willing to bet that Pedro's strikeout numbers are going to go down. Since, as we all know, he has NO SPEED AT ALL (sarcasm) anymore, he'll rely more on the fielders to get outs. But then again, I could be wrong. I do think, however, that the sox will lead the AL in strikeouts, just I doubt they'll be able to compete with the cubs and wood, prior, clemente, maddux pitching against other pitchers 1/9 times.

    Do you collect any baseball cards/memorabilia? Just the other day I got a signed ortiz bat in an auction, and I have some other autographs as well (I like my El Tiante one the most). I also have copious amounts of cards, but I haven't touched them in the longest time. I bet I could find some stuff of value in there. So how 'bout you?

    That used to be a problem, but in recent years (especially last year) they've improved on that.

    Halliday got shelled too but you dont see people bitching/saying something is wrong with him do you? No, because nothing is wrong, and nothing is wrong with Pedro either. And let us not forget Mussina with his 5 ER in 5 innings, AGAINST THE DRAYS! point finished.

    Are you watching the other games today? There are games going on right now on ESPN and ESPN 2, cubs/reds is ESPN (the cubs just sucked at baserunning, what a god-awful play), and I forget who is playing on #2. I guess thats the official definite beginning of the season.

    Actually, to fix the time issue you need to go to "my controls" --> "board settings" and click the box that says "is daylight savings time in effect?". That will fix the time issue.

    I dunno whats going to happen, hopefully not just an asterisk, because then it leaves controversy as to who the real homerun kind (or second place man, or whatever) is. A question that we can deal with right now, however, is about McGwire. It is common knowledge he was on "performance enhancing drugs" in 98, so what do we do about his homerun totals?

    I agree, people are blowing the Pedro thing out of proportion. He pitches decently considering the circumstances. It wasnt his best, but it was far less bad than people are making it out to be.

    Alright, I think what I'll be doing in this forum is closing the game threads after the game is over and there is nothing much else to say. Since this is an off day i'll be closing it now, but from now on I'll close the previous thread once the next game starts. How does that sound?

    Actually, it was surprising. I was out by a lot until i picked up Frank Thomas and some ******* in the league (who just so happens to post on this site) dropped all of his players and I managed to snag Halliday. But dont say I cheated.

    reading through this thread I realize one thing. We cant ALL have the redsox logo as our avatar, its too similar! Use different colors or something, its confusing if you just look at the avatar to see who's speaking. Anyhoo, about the game, it certainly wont be one of the high points of the season, but some good aspects: Pokey's defense Bellhorn is hitting it hard Mueller is on fire Francona is taking a moderate amount of risks (which can be good, just not now) ummmm, anything else?

    Just a friendly reminder, if the post is about an ongoing game or a specific game, can we please try to keep it in the individual game forum in that game's thread? Just that way it doesnt get really really cluttered over here. So i'll be moving this into the other thread, alright? No big deal.

    Yea, I dont see the logic in that, and that Kapler steal earlier on, although he has WHEELS, is a little iffy in my mind. I wonder which were Francona's decisions? But lets not be too quick to judge. And pedro just got a strikeout.
