  1. Who is your favorite sox player of all time? WAIT, THERES A CATCH! It needs to be a player who played in a game that you watched. You can't say teddy if you were born in the '80s, obviously. My favorite has got to be Mo (he was just mentioned in another thread). I was a huuuuuuuuuuge fan back in the day.
  2. Bellhorn hit .230 last year in 48 games. The last time he played anywhere near a full season was 2002 in which he hit .258 in 146 games (but he had 144 strikeouts). I dont like the idea of putting him in for a whole month straight to fill in for injuries, so I would be up for something that limits his batting time. The other options arent' so great either, but I think they beat him out in terms of hitting. But completely reorganizing the infield and moving players to positions they arent accustomed to seems somewhat drastic. I think Terry will need to see how things work out in the first week before making changes.
  3. I just watched the 2003 season recap on NESN about an hour ago. It was painful, but some parts were good. Its funny because Millar, who was attempting to be the narrator almost, tried to remain as neutral as possible, saying Zim slipped and Manny got a little excited. It was funny.
  4. Whats the scariest on-field thing you've ever witnessed at a game you attended? I was at the game against the marlins where the sox scored 10 runs before the first out was recorded, great game, but thats besides the point. In the 7th a screaming line drive smacked the marlins pitcher (I forget his name now, I feel terrible), in the side of the head. He was carted off the field in the dead silence of the stadium. It wasnt as bad as Florie's incident, because that involved blood and wriggling on the ground and permanent eye damage, but it was still chilling to see.
  5. Thats all well and good, but Theo saying that the defense is now a strength? Cmon. It may be improved, but it will need to improve a LOT more to be considered a "strength".
  6. I know what you mean. I was crossing off the days on my calander until the big ST started, and now its over. On a semi-related note, I have yet to realize that baseball season is starting. Well, it already started, and thats the problem. They started a week ago in Japan, IN JAPAN! I didnt watch the game, I barely even saw highlights! Its like the game never happened. I'd much prefer it if tomorrow were opening day, that way it would be a ritual, a sacred moment in the life of a baseball fan. But no, tomorrow is the second game of the season, nothing special beacuse japan HAD to see godsucka play! Dammit MLB!

It was far from a good performance, but starting tomorrow, the games count. This spring training has left a lot of questions up in the air regarding injuries/peformance/contract disputes and whatnot. Lets hope it all works out for the best

  17. I doubt Gagne can do it again, its not every day that a closer wins the cy young. RJ might be too old, he was injured for part of last year, and I think that he's losing his stuff. As for wood, well, I forgot about him.
