I dont really like the trade, but I can explain the reasoning: Embree- Great reliever who just HAPPENS to be in a funk right now Kim- Good reliever, soon to be great starter who can pitch effectively right now Nomar- Great shortstop, despite what sox fans say Soriano- Great 2b/ss. The trade seems to make sense to me -
Did the large numer of sox fans on netsports affect your perception of your second favorite team? I dont know if this is the case, but I know a lot of people will swear allegiance to a team if they see a large number of fans of that team somewhere. That wasnt a coherent sentence, I know, but do you see my point? Or my question, rather.

Good chart, very interesting to look at the wasted money. But you guys do all realize that a salary cap in baseball would mean a salary cap on the sox, and that our payroll would most likely go down.

That team sucks this year. What are they, 17 games out already? They needed a shakeup. This robably wont change anything, but its an understandable move to make.

Yup, arod is a good yankee fan. Anyway, I'd rather have Nomar because a vote for Jeter is a vote for the yankees. Hatred for Jeter is so engrained in my personality because he is a YANKEE. Plus I think he's overrated. Nomar is not as bad as he is playing now, and I know that he'll make up for it in the future (but will it be too late?). I cant make a decision against Nomar based on one month in which he has done poorly coming off an injury. Likewise, Jeter sucks. Duh.

So, who's been following Wimbledon? I've been watching it on ESPN, and its been great so far. I've been rooting for Roddick and Sharapova (who, in addition to being ridiculously attractive, is good at tennis). Any other tennis fans?

I'm glad as hell that I couldn't see last nights game. That said, I'll be a Red Sox fan until I die, even if they lose in game 7 of every ALCS from now until eternity. You'll be back man, and you know it.

Sheffield is still a steroid-infused, yankee humping bitch, even if he DOES hate Boras. But this isnt a "you're ruining baseball" type of hate, this is a "please let me keep as much of my money as psychically possible" type of hate.
