  1. We've all read the soccer story by now. Is this more crap being heeped onto Nomar in an effort to ruin his name in Boston 1) to make the trade look better and 2) As a means of revenge? He's not even in town anymore and he's still getting so much negative attention. I hope this doesnt turn into a clemensesque thing where everyone winds up hating him.
  2. Since my last update which, admittedly, was a long time ago (Hey, I was away), abe's stats look like: W L PCT ERA WHIP G GS CG SH SV IP H R ER HR SO BB BK WP HB 9 7 .563 3.43 1.23 21 21 0 0 0 110.1 110 52 42 11 91 26 0 2 4 He's looking mighty impressive so far. I'll continue with game by game updates from now on, now that I actually can.
  3. Don't get too drunk and miss his performance. First hand accounts are always the best!
  4. I wonder what the ratio of suicides on off-days to game days is.
  5. Absolutely horrible. I know its a little late in the next day to comment, but that was pathetic.
  6. It's been a while since I watched a sox game. Nice and relaxing (at times).
  7. Even though Texas holds the wild card lead? Personally I'd rather see the A's on top of that division and battle Texas. Texas is not a playoff team and the sox should be able to beat them. If they win that division I lose all respect for Oakland.

I was never on the wrestling bandwagon, even when I was much younger and everyone idolized it. It's just too... stupid for me I guess.
  9. Guttierez is a much better choice than crespo in my mind. Sure he's only had limited at bats with the sox (12), but he is hitting .308 in those 12 at bats. Sure he hit .175 in 63 ab with the mets before coming to us. But do you remember what crespo was hitting? .165 in 79 abs! He's a career .192 hitter, Guty is up there in the mid 200's. I didnt really mention Bellhorn because he's injured.

    Hi

Welcome to the site first of all. To answer your questions: 1) Go to "my controls" and look on the bottom left for avatar settings. You can select a pre existing avatar, upload your own, or point to one on the internet from there. 3) More posts = higher levels. But this should not be the be all end all of posting here. 3) Yes. Go to My Controls > Email settings and click "enable email notification by default". I hope that helps and welcome again.
  11. Whoa now, don't be so quick to jump to conclusions....
  12. CG from schill. Good way to start a winning streak.
  13. What the hell? http://money.cnn.com/2004/08/03/news/midca...dex.htm?cnn=yes They can't be serious. I dont want the sox broadcasted on YES.
  14. I've seen 0 of his playing ability so far, but I find it ironic that this thread was started and then the trade was made. Funny, n'est ce pas?
  15. Yea. So I'm back y'all. I see some new faces, I'll be sure to talk. But my trip home was ruined when I found out that Nomar was traded in Point A Pitre. I swore at an old woman next to me, but she didnt understand so it was all good. Good to be back in Boston though.
  16. Thank God Ortiz made it as a reserve

    Wimbledon

And it turns out that Federer > Roddick. It was a great match. They hit the ball ridiculously hard.
  18. Ugh. At least Lowe pitched 4 good innings, right?
  19. Nice. Sox are getting back on track. On a related note, Yagmaster told me that on his way down to Atlanta yesterday (or whenever) Theo was on his plane.
  20. With 3 valid referrals to tek33rule's 1, yankshater213 is our winner.
  21. The contest is now officially over. Valid referrals will now be counted.
  22. Atlanta? What were you doing down there.
  23. I want someone to tell me that I was right about Nomar being back last night. 3-4, with his one out being a ball that he hit pretty well.
