    Players (good players) get put on waivers to judge interest. That is why Clemens was put on, its kind of like putting a player on the trading block. I doubt the sox will get him, and I shudder to think what we might have to give in return.

    I'm counting on all of you for updates on this game, not just scorewise but the stuff that a box score can't tell you. I can't see the game (and if I could I wouldn't be able to stay up for it), so you guys are my only hope!

    Empire, Paxton Crawford was a decent pitcher for the sox a coupla years ago, somewhat like Casey Fossum. I think his Red Sox career ended when he injured himself rolling out of a hotel bed onto a class and cutting himself pretty badly. I think he was traded... although for who and to what team I have no idea.

    Didnt catch this game, my being in france and all, but it didnt sound good from zhat i hear, despite the win. Sveum blew ANOTHER call? Thats incredible. And foulke sounded shaky, but at least it was a W. Now if all the other teams could just start losing...

    But he couldnt exactly get it done in the 9th. That was a really half hearted check swing groudout.

    Ouch, an FDR joke. As for Cabrera, he'll snap out of this "no wood" phase, as he has hit much better in the past (he has been on many a fantasy team of mine), but he won't approach the level that nomar was at. We knew this when we got him, so don't take it as huge news.

    Bronson has been absolutely lights out, 9 up 9 down and a very low pitch count. Needless to say, I'm impressed.

    To be honest with you, I'd rather have slow progression and full development than having players rushed through the minors before they can "blossom" so to speak. It would be a shame to spoil possibly wonderful careers by thrusting kids (I say kids, even though they're older than I am) aren't ready for higher level action yet, or are borderline ready.

    First of all, shouldnt you be "Dreaming" of a sox/mets world series, you being a mets fan and all? Like Tek said, our defense has been greatly improved with all of the controversial additions of the past few weeks. About our rotation, if it comes down to the playoffs, a rotation of Pedro-Schilling-Someone shaky is still a rotation that I would take any day of the week. And at least we're united in our hatred of the yankees, right?
