  1. 4-0 sox 4-0 tribe Texas Minnesotta hasn't started.
  2. http://redsoxnation.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1503 For reasons of blatant ripping off of another site, I'm going to have to close this. No offense Noah.
  3. It's a saying, an expression... We have an off topic section but all anyone posts about is the word association thread. They're a much larger, much heavier volume, much more established site than talksox is. Why do we have to criticize them?
  4. What does this post mean. I see that you're trying to convey the existence of a message board called soxtalk (of which we only became aware after registering this domain ), but I have no idea where you're going with the "sex colloums politics and lies in 1 collom" thing. Thats what they call their general discussion... but....what?
  5. Does it seem to anyone else that the outcome of this game will dictate the rest of this series? If the sox win I can legitimately see a sweep. A victory tonight puts us 2.5 ahead in the WC, a very nice position to be in, and it gives us even MORE momentum going into the remaining 2 games with Anaheim. A loss, however, places us .5 ahead with 2 games to go against our main opponent at this stage. Knowing this team, I'm not sure we could stomach a loss right now. I'm afraid we're like a 3 year old climbing up a slide, poised to slip if any gust of wind pushes him down but ALMOST to the top. You all know the feeling of climbing up a slide, and thats what I'm feeling about this team right now.
  6. Indeed it would be, but shhhh, we dont speak about such things.
  7. But the third base coach doesnt make the call for stealing bases, does he? I thought that was left up to the runner or the manager. Lets not try to give sucky sveum credit for good things!
  8. Thats awesome. I dont want to go ahead without your permission, but would you mind copying and pasting the game preview that you type up into the game threads, along with a link to your site of course. It's a great way to get into the game day state of mind, and it really has some useful information. Congrats on some awesome analysis and the like.
  9. I thought Yankee fans hated Pedro with a passion. Whats this about wanting him all of a sudden? I remember a lot of yankee fans saying he wasnt even all that good....
  10. Wow Els, thats some great analysis. I'm gonna attempt to wade through it now.
  11. All of the above? This team has finally clicked, and it has made for the best August in recent memory. Now, if this team can avoid folding in September like they love to do, we may REALLY have something to be giddy about.
  12. moving to other sports.... I'll make it a sticky too.
  13. Quality over quantity I always say....
  14. He gets 700 before September 2nd at this rate dude.
  15. They haven't lost it yet, mind you. They've only lost half of it.
  16. Lol, no, that rivera is the worst photoshop job I have ever seen. Look at the letters on the uniform and hat. It's funny, the arms just make it all the more comical.
  17. Send 'em in Kim was infinitely better than Sveum, and Kim was horrible. There's no excusing the bad moves Sveum has made (look at Youk's injury as a result!). A blind, retarded two year old could make better calls at 3b.
  18. It's a day game, so as usual, not much posting going on. But yes, good game so far. I think that they'll keep it up too, from the way the team has been playing.
  19. Not to steal element's thunder, but I thought I'd start today's game thread, lol. The sox are on the roll of all rolls, hopefully they can keep it up. Its great to hear that the team is having such a fun time, it makes being a fan all the more enjoyable.
  20. Ok, this is it, the REAL update that I havent done for oh-so-long: As most of you may know, but I didnt since I was away, Alvarez was called up to make a spot start on July 21st. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings. http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=..._id=24490&rfi=6 At Portland, Alvarez's stats stand at: A.Alvarez 9-9 3.59 25 25 0 0 0 0 130.1 129 63 52 12 29 102 2 He still has a very respectable ERA, and a halfway decent record for a AA pitcher. His strikeouts are also pretty high (102 in 130 innings) for a pitcher, who accord to most people, throws softly. He is also rated by http://www.soxprospects.com to be the sox top pitching prospect, with a grade of "B". He's also a 2004 Eastern League all star. I'm having extreme difficulty finding game-by-game performances on the sea dogs website, but when I find them I'll post them.
  21. One isolated incident means nothing. I'm not saying that I necessarily disagree with your point of view (I think the yankees have a better lineup, to tell you the truth), but I'm just pointing out that relying on what circumstance doesn't work in arguments.
  22. On the topic of class, what is happening to the Nomar 5 fund now that Nomar has been run out of town? Will it be moved to Chicago? He was an evil, evil man right? Good riddance to him and his selfish f***tard ways. http://www.nomar5fund.org/images/pics/2003_nomarbowl.jpg Same with Mo Vaughn.
  23. Of course I choose tonight's game to miss due to Jet Lag. Oh well, sounds like it was awesome, and Anaheim lost so we're now undeniably in the lead in the wild card. Woohoo.
  24. Welcome aboard. But you can't root for Texas while the sox are competing for the wildcard with them. That's rule #2.
  25. http://www.talksox.com/index.php?showtopic=52&st=15 It was asked a while ago.
