  1. I'd prefer a world series ring to prove it once and for all.
  2. The cards would have to win today and tomorrow to bring it back to Fenway. It would certainly be better for the team and the city to have the sox win at Fenway, and it would raise the excitement level by that much, but I dont know if its worth giving St. Louis 2 games. They could certainly win them, but I'll still be rooting for the sox.
  3. Sox can and will clinch tonight. I can't believe it. It has yet to hit me really. 86 years of futility to be erased, if not tonight, then very very soon. You half expect the Cardinals to win this game, they really shouldn't be losing as badly as they are right now. But I think the sox have the advantage.
  4. Pedro and Schilling our both our aces. What these guys have done in this postseason is simply amazing, really. I wouldn't discredit Schilling, since he's such a tough guy and has pitched so well with such a bad injury. I wouldn't call one or the other the ace, I'd call them co-aces, and they are really deserving of the title.
  5. I know what you mean.
  6. Discuss. Today could potentially be the last day we know the World Series deprived Red Sox. I have a knot in my stomach.
  7. I think the problem is that now, up 3-0, I am too confident in this team. None of the games have really been exciting, in fact they've been downright sloppy. No close games, no ortiz game winning hits. The ALCS was the true world series of this year, and it really has taken away from the real one. Don't get me wrong, i'd still (and I will still be) overjoyed when they win, but I dont think it will hit me until I see 6 million screaming people in Boston at the parade.
  8. Oh shush. The one time its happened it was the sox. This is destiny man, destiny!
  9. Am I the only one who isnt as excited as they should be though? I dunno....this just doesnt seem like the world series to me. *sigh*, I wish they could win it at Fenway.
  10. I can't believe it. The Red Sox are going to win the World Series. THE WORLD SERIES!!!! THE RED SOX WILL WIN IT! OH MY GOD.
  11. Pedro has been absolutely amazing since that rocky start. He's just shutting them down.
  12. Power going out? I thought the hurricanes had stopped.
  13. He's a pitcher, not used to being in base running situations I guess.
  14. Crap. He's wild and pitching 88. Great.
  15. Peter Gammons is a moron. I'm not staying up if its pushed back to 10.
  16. St. Louis doppler. Doesn't look too great.
  17. We could lose all 3 games in St. Louis and I'd still feel pretty comfortable coming back to Fenway.
  18. Hey there, and welcome. But I'll be moving this to Introductions.
  19. Haha, welcome to the site.
  20. He hit 95+ several times, also during game 5 of the ALCS. It's crazy. He's really been digging deep and turning it up a notch.
  21. Yes. Absolutely. My name is yeszir over there.
  22. Just from watching him, and from recent memory, I bet he could go 7. The one thing that I have agreed with with FOX broadcasters in the past, however, is that relief pitchers should always be brought in to start an inning when possible. It always seems that when Pedro or anyone leaves after giving up hits with only one or two outs in an innings, a mess is sure to follow.
