It proves to them that they shouldn't have to spend! These players demanding big contracts are just being greedy! 100M - 150M payroll should be fine! 😎

There is some interesting talk around the world on this off-season, the cap and how the attitudes of team and players trump $s.

Where is the loyalty from owners to players? Sox showed little to no interest in retaining their top stars going back to the Lynn and Fisk days through Xander and Mookie days. Go all the way back to B

Were thinking alike here… young players should only have one rookie MLB year at a set base rookie pay then hit 3 years of arbitration, then free agency. A player like Anthony would have been a F

So looking forward to listening to the owners explain how a Rays/Brewers series proves definitely that MLB absolutely needs a salary cap for competitive balance, otherwise we'll be seeing teams like this in the WS forever.

I think you can have a good team without having a mega-payroll, but more money = more wins.

Brock, I think when healthy Contreras is a good add. Based on his history in the game, even at DH and 1B his body is subject to historical levels of wear and tear, so I put his GP over/under at 108 since 135 seemed like a career year. I believe we bought high. We have to hope 2/3 of a player can be back filled by Casas, Yoshida and Abreu the lefty platoon player.
