Unlike other publications, Talk Sox allows all users to help build our top prospect rankings. Anyone with a Talk Sox account can participate and give their input on who you think should be in the Red Sox' top prospects list. Before you vote, you can hit our top prospects page for the latest stats and news on Red Sox prospects while on the voting page, every name is a clickable link that brings up their current stat card.

Voting is simple, just follow the instructions below!

Here's the rundown how to participate:

1. You must have an account and be logged in to vote. If you don't have an account, click here. It literally requires 60 seconds to create an account.

2. Review our current top 20 prospect list, catch up on stats, rankings, etc. (you can do so from the voting page link below)

3. Have your prospect list in your filthy little paws? Then flip on over to the new prospect voting page (after reading the rest of this, please).

https://talksox.com/prospect-voting

4. Voting is super simple, you drag and drop players in the order you wish them to be. After you move a prospect, the list automatically renumbers so you don't lose track of the order. This works on mobile devices but it's a *vastly* better experience on desktop. Sorry, that's just how this kind of thing works. There's no great way to make something like this be as awesome on a phone screen.

5. Each prospect has a comment section where you can add any commentary you have on that player. At the bottom of the list, there is a general comment section to explain over-arching things you wish to mention.

6. Don't see a prospect you want to put on the list? Just pop back here and give me a mention (in a comment, start typing @Brock Beauchamp as it appears). Mention the prospect you want added and I will do that asap.

7. Once you're done with all of it, click Save. You've now voted!

8. When the voting closes, a new thread will automatically generate in this forum with all of your rankings and comments for everyone to read and talk about.

9. You can only vote once. If you have voted in error, pop back here and tag Brock, asking to have your vote deleted. It will be removed and you can vote again.

If I am Breslow I am buying and selling.  I am trading Abreu and Yoshida and looking for young pitching.  The hitting side of the team is ready to take off and Abreu is the odd man out since he's a platoon hitter and we can't waste a roster spot on someone who can't hit left-handed pitchers which throw 40% of the games Boston will play in.

Even if we don't make the playoffs, Breslow needs to get this deal done to clear payroll.  The rest of the season has two big questions:

1 - Will Bregman opt out?

2 - Given Crochet as the top gun, who fills the 2 through 4 slots in the 2026 rotation and can Breslow upgrade the bullpen in 2026?

This team is on the cusp.  Like the off season when he moved Devers to DH, Breslow must now fix the pitching staff to make a run at the division title in 2026.

So, do you think that Tolle is the Red Sox top pitching prospect?

Could one put Franklin Arias above Roman Anthony or Marcelo Mayer yet? What does Bleis need to do to move into the same category?

I think Tolle had a breakout season at TCU where his hits per 9 dropped dramatically and his Ks exploded to 1.5 per inning.  His Hi-A experience brought him back to the pack giving up almost one hit per inning, but his Ks are still outstanding, and his walks have improved since college.  If Dobbins is still a prospect, I like him the most right now, but Tolle has a monster upside.  He could look like Crochet in a couple of years.  And Dobbins is a bulldog.  To me, he reminds me of a young Clemens.  His tenacity impresses me.  Will he have Clemens-like stuff?  Probably not but there is something to be said for Houck and Eovaldi from the old days being tenacious.  They kept us in many games with their tenacity.  With the offense we have now, I think Dobbins is going to do well and win regularly.

Arias and Cespedes are at a very low level of the minors with Arias the same age but one step up.  When you examine their stats there is an interesting difference.  Arias has greater speed but doesn't hit many triples.  Cespedes doesn't steal but hits lots of triples.  As they ascend, I will be curious to see how their skills progress. Arias might be having a breakout defensive season.  Until now neither has been very good.  To me, they are years from catching Mayer even if he turns out to be a rough fielder.  And since both play 2B/SS, they aren't going to be pressing Campbell any time soon either.

Miguel Bleis in 2022 got everyone's hopes up with a great season.  He jumped into the top 100 in 2023 and completely stagnated.  This is a very typical pattern for young foreign players.  They get pumped up with hype by doing well in the DOSL then come to ROK or even A ball and have an excellent year and all perspective is lost by the average fan.  If they play well the next year they can hang around and stay in the top 100 but if they tank, they are here and gone very quickly like Jeter Downs.  To me, Bleis lacks fundamental hand/eye skills which prevent him from making consistent contact and maintaining a decent average.  His .301 in 2022 may end up being his career year.  He's a perfect candidate as a throw in on a deal since he did hit the top 100 once and maybe another team can find a way to bring him out of his funk.  Unfortunately, it's not really a funk, it's truly a lack of MLB skill.  I wish the best for him

Bleis has been dealing with injury, so his sample size has not had long enough stretches to make any real determinations on "stagnation," progress or decline.

Arias has always been a great defensive player. He's not "breaking out" on D. People are just watching him more closely, now. Aso, while Greenville might be the "low minors," it's not the "very low" minors, and for a 19 year old, it's actually "very" high.

Cespedes has had injury issues, as well, else he might be at GRE with Arias.

All 3 of these guys have more to prove to make a jump into where our big 3 have been, but IMO, all 3 are young enough and have shown glimpses of top skills to be on the radar of national rankings. Jh Garcia might pass 'em all, and don't count out his brother, either. Justin Gonzalez looks intriguing.

The pitching is much harder and fluid to have any idea of how high any of our pitching prospects might rise. Even if Perales never got hurt, it's hard to know how high he'd be at, right now.

To me, Tolle, Clarke and Valera have some very high upside potential, but I'm not sure how high their floors are. Dobbins and Fitts have more identifiable floors, but their ceiling look limited. Early & Sandlin may be the wild cards.

In my opinion, substantially improve the hit tool, while chasing less pitches outside the zone when he has 2 strikes!!

It looks to me like Valera and Clarke has really good stuff!! But both appear to be injured now.

tolle, fitts and early appear to be on a program designed to improve their ability to throw secondary pitches for strikes!!! The better their success in this program will determine if they are relievers or starters in Boston!!!!

I think dobbins has been amazing as a rookie this year! He has earned a spot in our rotation with his work so far!!!
