If Blackburn is cheap I wouldn’t be against him. He’s at least a healthy starting pitcher, we don’t have a lot of those

I agree with you. Blackburn had a better outing than his final line looked like. Kotsay left him out there to die in the 6th.

Turner is fairly amazing at 38. Appeared in 91 of 95 games through tonight, played 1B, 2B, 3B and DH . Over past 30 games has an OPS of 1.034

That is correct, sir. Blackburn would be a good pick-up. Think the A's would have any interest in Kike, even if the SOX ate 75% of his remaining salary?

The Dodgers' were nice to the SOX by not re-signing both Turner and Martin.

I think a contender would take him as bench bay/utility guy. Not sure why Oakland would want him

You know if Pivetta is going to do this, go ahead and have a courtesy "starter" and just let him go hogwild. If he's more comfortable pitching 4-5 innings of relief, and you can get this Nick Pivetta out of him? Then go for it.

It is very odd how much better he pitches out of the pen, opposed to starting. If this is what it takes, I’m all for using openers for all of Pivettas “starts”

The hardest thing about baseball is hitting a round ball with a round bat. Imho, the 2nd hardest thing is not swearing at the HP chUMP after many bad calls and then getting tossed. For the most part the inept work of HP chUMPS has been an embarrassment to baseball.

Legit think it takes some pressure off him. Red Sox get some runs early and Pivetta comes in playing with house money. Way less stressful. Maybe it's what he needs.

It may also mean he is much more comfortable realizing he really only needs 5 good innings to get the Sox into their "good" bullpen guys. If he is starting and goes 5 innings, he is falling short

Well, unless Bloom wants to trade prospects, the players Bloom wouldn't mind trading don't have much value.

There it is! He wants more. I thought he'd done enough when he got through 5. Are they gonna ask him to finish?

Nobody is warming up and he’s mowing guys down. I wouldn’t be surprised if he finishes this.
