Schreiber has the right stuff to close. Houck has done so with a lot of guts, but he doesn't have the right stuff.

 

I'm inclined to defend Duran on that attempted steal. He was out, and I hated that. But up to then the Sox were totally incapable of batting in a runner from 2b, plus Duran is fast, the Cleveland catcher made an absolutely perfect throw to get Duran. Man on 3b has a way better chance of scoring than a man on 2b.

 

Then came the deluge of JDM, Bogey, and Verdugo to get 3 runs and the lead.

Your point is valid, but the fact remains that both Bogey and JD have left a ton of runners on base so far this season.
