Yes, that is funny.

He's actually 8 for 20:

7 for his first 9 (.778)

1 for his last 11 (.091)

I believe he drew a few walks as well

Decisions are made by persons with more information and better judgment than we internet posters have.

Im not sure what other information you need....Hes 8 for 20 this year(.400)....and walked twice....Hes played in Boston for a few yrs so he knows how to run bases at Fenway....Hes probably the fastest guy and best base runner on the team....Thats the type of guy I would take a chance on to lead off

Yes, I know.

Look, I'm JBJ's biggest fan on this site and since day one. He's my favorite player.

He gets hot, and he gets cold. The fact that he had 3 great hitting games to start the season does not mean we should totally revamp our thinking on who he is, or where he belongs in the line-up, and since he's gone cold, since, I'd say they were right not to move him up after 3 games.

I'm all for trying some new things, and I wouldn't have slammed the manager for trying JBJ some where else, but IMO, I'd give him a couple weeks before thinking he's either hot or cold. (He's rarely in between.)

The problem is, we dont really have two weeks yo figure it out....Its a 60 game season lol

Also, His hot and cold are still looking pretty good to me compared to most other guys including Benintendi and JD Martinez so far

...I understand its a small sample size as well but its a short season...They dont have a lot of time to figure it out...O course, the odds are against them either way considering their pitching situation, but I think with a little tweaking of the lineup they could find more production hittingwise

The short season doesn't change the fact that teenie tiny sample sizes are near useless.

I also think JD hits more comfortably cleanup and Moreland #3 everyday...Peraza #2 JBJ leadoff....Benintendi #5 Vazquez #6 Verdugo #7

And so on

I dont think 20 at bats/22 plate appearances is a teenie tiny sample size either

It is what it is anyway.....you dont have two more weeks to figure it out with a shortened season....I wouldnt wait that long anyway

I still just wish they would have just bit the bullet and paid Price and Betts though.....Theyre payroll is gonna be $80 Million less next year and lower the next yr after that
