Maybe Cora does not believe the pitching changes and the hitters were announced properly which would definitely be a problem if it happened.

Having faced Tampa's two best starters, winning 2 of 3 isn't that bad. And there still is one more at bat.

When asked why he went to the considerable trouble of being able to do that he replied, "Because being right isn't everything. Being able to prove it is."

Ya. I suggested at one time that the crew chief should be mic'ed and I was vilified for it. The response I got was, "What's he going to say? Either he was safe or he was out."

 

I still say there should be a mic on the crew chief, just for situations like this.

True but the problem is that this team is in a wildcard chase and every game is important. Right now they’re chasing the As. After this they get the Yankees who have beaten up on this team in 2019.

As a bit of an aside, what happened today is a downside to being at a game. The people in the stands usually don't know what's happening.

 

I was at the famed "pizzagate day" at Fenway on the day when a fan threw a big piece of pizza at another fan. I was sitting in the g/s section looking down the 3B line and saw the pizza (or something white) thrown at another fan but didn't know the backstory until I got home.
