Looking at the rays they’re having one of those big starts to the season. You hope they cool off. The White Sox are just awful.

Several at 91, several at 93, 1 at 95.

I like the sounds of that!! Could be our only good starter this year if Price, Porcello, E Rod and Eovaldi keep sucking.

Game tied. Three singles and sac fly for 2 runs. I still think Pedey faked going to 2b when he should have stayed home.

Also our pitchers are garbage which doesn’t help. Not saying Sale has been horrible but against the Jays offense. Giving up this many hits and 2 runs and not even out of the 3rd inning is ugly.

Guess I jinxed it. Jesus Christ sale.

Maybe you did--because I think Pedey had a GIDP but was out of position faking a move to 2B.

I'm just sad I am missing the game. So badly wanted to watch Pedroia's return :(

Any resemblance between this Sale and the one from early last year is purely coincidental. That 5 year extension not looking very good at this point.

Meh. Three singles--one of which should have been a GIDP (but Pedey was out of position)--and a sac fly. I am a far cry from giving up on Sale.

Unfortunately, big contract signings are usually a curse. I hope this isn't the case as Sale was very good in his second start and looks like he was rock solid in innings 1 and 2. Hopefully the 3rd inning was just..... bad luck or something.

Now that I believe, that big contracts are the kiss of death, but I think Sale is too professional for that.

I think most big and especially long-term contracts are for what the player has already done, not what he will do.

If one category sticks out on Sale other than the early velo issues its Sale from the stretch v Sale from the windup. He is just getting nothing done from the stretch so far this year especially early in games. Then again, if you are not going to do much work in ST, how much are you going to do from the stretch.

Agreed..... And if you think about it.... It's a lot of pressure to perform under. Getting that kind of money you know you basically have to replicate your numbers or close too from the season before. Unfortunately this happens to a lot of pitchers, QB's, goaltenders etc.... A bit different with Porcello but he won the CY young and has never been able to come close to that season ever since..... (probably why he HASN'T been offered an extension yet"
