Here’s what i know about this group. They have won a bunch of games the last couple of years but they haven’t won the big games. Their whole season will come down to the division series and what they do.

It was a curious decision to use his worst guy in a tie game.

Been where we have been all season long. Playing crud teams week after week just masked it to some extent. But really watching them, you could tell this pen was a train wreck in progress. You are right about the starters needing to go 7. Only way this pen has a chance. But they have to get outs on batted balls to get 7 innings. Our crack broadcast team raves about the K's. Well K's build pitch counts like it or not.

I trust Sale can go 7 if healthy. The rest is really a toss up. Price would be close if he keeps playing this way. Would also help if we could score more than 3 runs against Houston but can’t leave it up to the offence every night.

The problem we have is we have great SP (1-3), and 1-4 hitters but The rest sucks ass on this team. Relievers, starters, hitters.

I think the real problem is the hard FB. I refuse to believe these pitchers are throwing breaking stuff with more movement than the great spin merchants of the past. But everybody is throwing a FB as hard as they can throw it. The result is that a decent pen is no longer a luxury. Its a necessity. There are maybe 4 starters in all of baseball that will get through the 7th regularly. Most of them are done at 6 and the rest are done at 5!
