The SOX have a tougher schedule finishing the season than the Yankems. Too early to make predictions, but I would rather be 7.5 games up than behind.
If we win tonight, it is 9 1/2 and I would have made the prediction, but not at 7 1/2.

Xander made a bad error and of our normal defensive alignment was out there, Price gets the first batter out. Them’s the breaks.

Well said. Them's the breaks.

Nobody is complaining they took 3/4. Obviously end result everyone is happy about that. People are annoyed because of the way the Yankees took the lead. It would be one thing if Stanton had a clutch hit, or Didi, or whatever, but it was literally the Sox walking 2 bums, and booting a double play ball to give the Yankees the lead.

The game is played by humans and these things can happen. In fact, they happen a few times during a long season. It's imperative to keep these kind of games to a minimum and the good teams do.

I just don't get how umpires don't even have a consistent zone. Its one thing to have a small zone, or wide zone, but how can pitchers throw same pitches all game and batter and pitcher will both have no idea if the pitch will be a strike?

Hallmark of a bad umpire.

This is what I'm talking about. Hembree literally didn't get that call last inning, but Britton does. This dude is a jack ass. Someone is getting ejected tonight.

And just to be clear, I'm not saying umpires are deciding this game or anything, but they've just been awful, and for both sides. He's squeezed all the pitchers at times, and also given them a few inches other times. Literally makes no sense. I guess he's just literally blind.

Radio guys think Cora was questioning if there was a balk

Makes more sense than what the ESPN idiots were saying. They thought Leon was ranting about strike zone to 1B umpire.

If you guys didn't want Price in, and didn't want Hembree in, who should've pitched here? It was 7th inning and I'm not sure Kimbrel is available after yesterday. I don't really blame Cora too much, sure maybe Price faced one batter too many, but this is on the players. Hembree couldn't throw a strike to an AAAA bum, and Xander booted a double play ball.

Barnes or Kelly.

First base coach or Leon was yelling about the plate calls. Ump said to knock it off, Cora got involved.

Makes sense. Leon was not happy at all at the strike 2 call on him

Would Kimbrel not be available just from throwing a lot of pitches last night? I think he hadn't pitched in three or four days before that... I'd think he'd be available tonight.

Hembree's quality/ability screams blowout reliever.

Hembree has amazing stats closing innings with inherited runners. Go find another punching bag. Mid releivers are targets for chumps.

He didn't get Shane Robinson out. Generally he just sucks against the MFY.
