Not to speak ill of the dead, but, if Hanley had been a 1b, he would have paused going to 2d and been out at the plate. Nunez hustled his ass off.

It’s amazing how much this team sucks without a guy like mookie. I guess it shows the major flaws of this team.

They lack any depth. If one of Betts and JDM are down, they are seriously missing 40% of their offensive charge. The lineup is really weak.

Actually, Holt replacing Pedey hasn't hurt the SOX. Keep playing him while he's hot.

What I really love is that he swung on a 3-1 pitch because he was looking for a fastball down the middle. Last year's Holt would have taken any and all 3-1 pitches thanks to the Bill James rule: a walk is as good as a hit, which it most certainly is not.

Come on. He's having a great year but before tonight the Sox were 6-3 with Mookie on the bench. Mookie was in the lineup when the Sox got that no-hitter thrown at them.

In fact, as long as Holt is hitting keep him at 2nd whether Pedey's ready to play or not.

I don't think Holt can keep this up, even with the muscle he added during the offseason. Besides, Pedroia is much better defensively. Unfortunately, I have my doubts about his ability to play regularly.

Physically Pedey may be the oldest man in MLB.

Hate to say it but that lower body action that eventually turned into JBJ corkscrewing himself into the batters box in 2014 is growing in his swing every day now. His swing is just so noisy that he must have to really concentrate to keep from being all over the place. Once he has to focus on taming one part of his swing another part starts to get out of control AGAIN which is really why he is so streaky as a hitter. If he has any sense at all, he will never stop trying to go opposite field as a hitter ever again as it might be the only way he has to keep the noise and business in his swing down to a dull roar.
