0 and 2 to the 9th slot batter with two outs. Walks him. Then homerun........ E-Rod needs to go after hitters

Yes and we need to look at the catchers on this team calling slider after slider and high FB ...it's lazy and paethetic .

Erod does not have enough of a FB to leave it even at the letters...in fact even just above the letters. You let DeShields take you out of the park on your high heat and you really don't have high heat.

If Devers did not snag that liner at 3rd there would have been another hot smash off that pitch which is why eddie tries to move it around. He really does not have a choice. Our pitching is the issue. The catcher is not the guy that has the ball in his hand.

Just doesn’t trust his stuff. Nibble nibble nibble. Sliders and changeups. Then....first pitch fastball right down the pipe. ERod so frustrating to watch. And if Vaz is calling these pitches (and not the bench) then shame on him too. Just a terrible sequence.

Yup, its Vaz fault when E-Rod shits himself. E-Rod gave up a hit to a guy hitting .190, walked the .200 hitter and served a bomb to a guy with 13 career homers in 4 seasons. Man Vazquez is bad!

Vaz has been screaming for eddie to get the high FB higher all night and eddie is just not getting it there. HE DOES NOT REALLY HAVE HIGH HEAT.

Or has been shaking it off.

Porcello can pitch just above the letters. Even Pom when healthy can pitch just above the letters. Price when right can and certainly Sale can. Eddie can't. Not more complicated than that. He really has to get the hitter chasing or he is toast up there. That also means he has to change the hitters sight line to the ball by throwing at the guys knees. I am not sure how much of a career eddie can have because he has to be just about perfect to get anything done.

Noticed that too. ERod keeps shaking him off on the high heat. Doesn’t trust his own stuff.

I think I mentioned it last year about E-Rod. He shakes a lot of pitches off. I'd like to see Cora tell him you are not to shake any call off all game, and see how that goes for a game or two.

E-Rod shakes off Vazquez a lot, you can't blame Vazquez (especially when Sox have one of the best ERA's in the league) when E-Rod doesn't trust him, has another plan, or whatever his deal is. I am not a huge Vazquez plan, but blaming him for E-rod last inning is foolish. E-Rodd is the one in control and has the final say and is throwing the ball. Lets be real.

Seems questionable to let E-Rod face a guy he's already given up a bomb to, especially after massively struggling last inning and having over 100 pitches.

And that is too much plate for that pitch. Inside a couple inches and the hitter can't even keep that fair. But that is the LH power hitter honey hole. You just can't leave it there. Thats twice tonight.
