Billy Martin had a kid in Oakland like E-Rod, told him before game, BP is beat told him he didn't care if he threw 170 pitches, your staying out there. Kid had a great game. Cant remember him.

Look at that--a changeup below the zone for a swinging strike followed by an outside cutter for strike three. Lucky on the third out--first pitch fastball slightly inside but very hittable to Chili Davis.

As I said on page 1, ERod ain't to bad after he gets thru the first two innings. He is simply not ready when he steps to the mound to start a game. This is provable.

Had a feeling the birds were going to kick our f.. brains in this series. Our team showing zero life right now.

We just won 16 out of 20 games before dropping two games, and that shows "zero life"?

Wow. You guys are tough.

Something about me going to college has really made this team suck

How's it going Mr T? I saw you are about two days in from moving away from home and into a dorm.

You need to wear a bra on your head and do a seance..... to clear out the bad baseball spirits..

Maybe ERod's doctor gives him a note saying his arm/hand/wrist can't do breaking balls until later in the game. And apparently that note works with his catcher, pitching coach, and manager. Doctor's orders: steady diet of fastballs until the game is out of hand.

Those were the days. Starters those years under Martin always led the League in Complete games.. Langford, Keogh, Norris, Kingman and I believe McCatty..

Keogh pitched a 14 inning complete game..

Same college Barnes went to?

Oh. Got it.

Well, I got the game on the TV in my room, surrounded by a dancing outfielder poster, and banners from the 2004, 2007, and 2013 World Series. There's some pretty intense Sox fans on my floor. So far, so good, except for the team's performance.

Gausman's splitter, on the other hand, seems pretty effective. You know, the guy with the 5.17 ERA.

Are we still enduring players' weekend with the silly nicknames? I'm thinking El Guapo for ERod. Or maybe El Foldo.

You got it! Believe it was Norris early in his career.

Right on man.......... if a bad three game slide is the worst you are dealing with, then all is good...........

Neat thing about splitters is they work equally well against righties and lefties. But of course the Sox pitchers either disdain splitters and simply can't throw them.

They don't. The only splitty starter I remember was Schilling and Clemens.
