2013 was a very veteran team. Overall, this is a very young team in their first pennant race. Among the key personnel, obviously Ortiz and Pedroia have been through it before, as has Price and Porcello. Who else? Bogaerts was a very minor cog that year. Bradley was in the minors down the stretch. Betts has played on 2 last place clubs. The rest are not guys who are going to carry you. Similar on the pitching staff among the main guys. Porcello and Price.

There's still something around 20% of the season left. They need to stay within in striking distance of the O's and Jays and beat them head to head. 1-2 games out is not a big deal. If they don't beat them mano y mano, it isn't going to matter.

A lot of LOB's tonight. Even though the KC bullpen is missing Davis it's still good. The royals are playing good ball. When you give them a lead like that "five runs" in the first inning it's tough. Hopefully this hitting slump doesn't last to long.

 

Nobody is hitting in the clutch as of now. It doesn't matter who it is.

Game was definitely worth watching just to see three of the B's do so well. Bogaerts went 3 for 5, Buhdroia 4 for 5, and Betts 5 for 5! Showed some fight at the end which will prevent this game from getting to them. Red Sox will win 6-2 tomorrow.

Three runs on fifteen hits. That is pretty putrid. They will most likely get swept. Losing Benintendi is going to hurt more than people realize.

The sox BA with the bases loaded is 212. That might explain some things. Just a stat to bring up. It shouldn't be like that. They are going to need Bradley and Leon to pick it up near the bottom of the lineup. I know he's a rookie but Beni's injury is looking huge.
