We've been waiting for this day all week, if not longer. We thought we would be closer than 5.5 games, but the fact that we aren't isn't our fault. We took care of our business and they took care of theirs. So now what? We take care of them. How nice would it be to go into the All Star Break 2.5 games out of first place and 1 game below .500? But, if somehow that doesn't happen, winning the series is a must. A must. We need to keep making progress. We've won the last 4 series. That's a streak that could go on for a while. We're still in this thing. A win tonight and we will likely come out of the cellar. After all, the Rays are playing the Astros. Let's make this rivalry fun again. The only "fun" I remember was when Lackey threw at A-Rod a couple years ago. Because, as some of you may know, I was too young to remember the fun of 2004. Since then, the entertainment value in this rivalry has gone down significantly. That's gotta change.

RHP Michael "Pine Tar" Pineda (8-5, 3.79) vs RHP Clay Buchholz (7-6, 3.27)

Wait a minute. Does our starter have a better ERA? Are my eyes deceiving me?

Lackey threw at A Roid too?

I remember Dempster being suspended for the same crime.

Anyway, f*** the Yankees. And f*** every creep that lives within a 40 mile radius of NYC.

GO SOX!!!!!1!!

Oh yeah you're right. Lackey said he wanted to, and the next night, Dempster did it.

Thunder you just got this thread off to a glorious start! It warmed my heart to see purple lips get plunked.

This one moment is why you will never hear me utter one single bad syllable about Ryan Dempster. He was over the hill by the time he came to Boston. But this play is up there with Tek plastering his mitt in that purple pussy's face.

Its a shame Pedroia couldn't be starting this key series. Hopefully he'll be back healthy next week.

This is a key series, not only because of their opponent. The Orioles, Jays and Rays are all playing division leaders in the Nationals, Astros and Royals.

My GT, my rules. Plus, I didn't feel like it today.

You know that HR wouldn't happen if Thunder gave A-rod some names like A-hole.

I called him Roidriguez. Get that crud out of your eyes.

Let's hope he can keep the rest of the lineup down and the Sox offense can touch Pineda.

Indeed. Betances and Miller scare me.
