Sorry I was not around for the GT. I did see most of the game, however.

 

I'm usually the first to criticize Buch but now I have to keep saying how well he is pitching. His first 7 starts were pretty much awful to no one's surprise.

 

His last 8 starts have been closer to what we saw early in 2013. I'm not surprised with this either!!! It's maddening! I remain skeptical because I think he is a lunkhead. I never feel confident when he takes the mound. Maybe if he finishes the 2015 the way he is pitching now ( with no injuries! ) I will be able to be confident in him.

 

In any case, he sure looks good!!!! I can't remember the last time he gave up a HR or got shelled. Good stuff.

 

Now bring up Johnson and move Kelly to the pen!

Vic isn't ready and Allen Craig can't even hit in AAA.

I know Vic is not ready and truthfully as I said prior to the season I don't expect much contribution from him because of all of the injuries. But he is on the roster making decent money and IF HEALTHY can provide very good defense and some production from the right side.

 

Graig is also being paid a sizable sum and is now hitting decently in AAA.

 

I just wonder what plans the Sox have for both players while the Sox outfield remains in flux.

I don't know if it's a mojo thing for Clay but his haircut is ridiculous. Looks like an idiot.

That being said, since the weird haircut, Clay has an ERA of 2.48 over 9 games. Prior to that, he had an ERA of 6.03 in 6 games. Clay can look like an idiot all he wants if it's going to make him pitch well.

Some more Clay ERA data:

 

In 11 games with the "worthless" Leon catching him, Clay has an ERA of 2.80. In 4 games caught by Hanigan, his ERA is 7.11. I'm a big Hanigan fan, so this is not a knock on him, but obviously, Clay and Leon are clicking. It will be interesting to see what happens when Hanigan returns from the DL in about a week.
