De La Rosa (4-4, 3.79 ERA) vs. Shoemaker (11-4, 3.84 ERA)

 

 

Oh joy. "Roobie Doobie" on the mound in a game that should have meaning for him. I wonder how he feels? If good Doobie shows up the Sox have a decent chance at winning this game and breaking the latest ( 4 game ) loosing streak.

 

Of course batting only 2 for 23 with RISP so far in this series does not bode well for the Sox chances.

 

I just want to see MY TEAM TRY to be competitive. Is this too much to ask of a bunch of grown men who all make more that $500,000. a year????

 

Maybe I expect too much? Maybe I should go back to drinking vodka?

The Angels have not swept the RedSox at home since 1962. Hopefully the RedSox will win tonight. I think this is a cool stat. Go RedSox!

What's the deal with Napoli?

 

I don't like that Ortiz is out, either.

 

I think that he has cashed it in now that he has his 30 and almost 100.

 

Sox fans deserve to see him play.

Nava batting 3rd for the Boston Red Sox? I know that Spud likes him and he has a great story, but batting 3rd? I hope there is something else on the tube.

Pedroia swung through a hanging slider. Done that a lot this year.

 

He got his average up to the .280s but I'm still not impressed with him. He use to have 15-20 hr power and could hit 300 easy. I'm worried about him turning into a little bit better than average hitter who is just a really good second basemen.

His power is zapped. It's gone. Hard to believe he has only 2HR at Fenway, and before getting his average up in August, he was hitting .250 at home from April-July.

It has. I'm also not impressed with Mike Napoli. He'll get his useless walks from time to time which is why his obp is good, but his doubles are down and his hrs are down. Nap has to hit 20 hrs a season as a bare minimum with good double numbers if he is going to be a .265 hitter.

Xander hits so many damn pop flys its ridiculous. His fly ball rate is almost as high as papi's and thats a terrible thing considering he doesn't have the power papi does. Edited by BigPapi

De La Rosa is pitching a pretty good game again.

 

Its 1 run or 5 runs for him. He either has it going on real good or has nothing. He has rarely been in between.

Thats true. He lunges at a lot of pitches. Especially thos breaking balls on the outside of the plate.
