Nova departs with elbow pain

Uh oh. Maybe that's why he has been outright terrible for his first 4 starts of the year. Here's to hoping it is just a strain, but I am not optimistic. He's had forearm strains 2 of the last 3 yrs, and with his elbow now barking, I wonder if that UCL is swiss cheese.

A lot of Tommy John's happening this spring. That is why you can never have enough pitching.

Exactly. And Nova obviously had something wrong. His velo was down and none of his pitches had bite. And like I said before, he's been shelved twice for "forearm" issues which to me, says elbow. I also am interested in deciphering how they knew so quickly that he had a partially torn UCL. They were on the road, it was a night game, and they knew an hour after he left. I wonder if they knew and were waiting for him to start having pain
