Actually, I desperately want to move out of Connecticut, for a change of scenery. I've lived in not only the same state, but the same town and same neighborhood my entire life. I've considered a move out of state, but I need to find a job in the town I move to before I move.

what's your field?

I really don't want to become an adult. I'd give at least one testicle to be 10 again and have no worries other than how to shuffle my saved games on a PS2 memory card.

The first few yrs on your own are both terrifying and exhilarating. Terrifying because you usually are incredibly poor and need to make due on tiny amounts of money. Exhilarating because you are free and if you want to go drinking on a Wednesday night (Natty Ice only the first few yrs) then you can. It's freedom with financial restrictions. You just need to have a plan

Haha, you say that like I have skills or a career. My "field" is the quickservice restaurant industry. My resume includes management at Arby's, Blimpie's and D'Angelo's, as well as jobs at Subway, McDonalds, Friendly's, and two years delivering pizza. It's not exactly the job security most people hope for, but it's what I am good at.

I would do the same, but I already gave one of my testicles and shipped it to Fenway Park in protest of Breslow pitching in game 4.

Haven't read through the thread, so I don't know how y'all feel about Pineda. My take is that, clearly, he was using pine tar on the baseball. So he was breaking the rules. But I think there's a reason why Farrell never complained, and that reason is probably pretty obvious. Pineda's mistake was not being more for discreet.

What the f*** are you talking about? How is living off a resident's salary comparable to what working class people go through? Oh, wait. You weren't ever a resident.

There's always over here in western Mass, where everyone is unemployed and f***ing miserable, but we sit around being thankful we aren't in Connecticut.

Alright, cut him some slack. He's not doing anything wrong here.

I remember it well BtR. I was living on $7K a year in med school with my wife making less than minimum wage on a salaried job. I made the best friends of my life during that time.

I'm sure that's the sort of thing you look back on and laugh about now that it's over.

Yeah, there is plenty of stuff we can rip on Jacko about, but none of us argue that he isn't actually a doctor. That's not really in doubt. You're just coming across as petty here.

LOL. I was talking about med school. Residency is a good enough salary (came out to about $11 an hour), especially with what my wife was doing. Med school was a ridiculous stretch. But yeah, keep doubting. I don't bother with convincing others anymore. My life is pretty solid right now

I still meet with those friends on a yearly basis. But yeah, it's a major life lesson. It gives you drive. Knowing that you're in class from 8-4 nearly every day the first two years, then studying from 5-10 every night and 3 out of every 4 weekends while living on salami and chicken salad, shows character and resilience and a strong GI tract. 3rd yr is hell, but 4th yr was great.

If you're a doctor, bro. Mad props. You have to work your butt off to become one. I found it hard enough for me to get my BA.

Been free for nearly 4 years now, so it's all worth it. But yeah, I don't know how I did it and couldn't do it again.

Of course you can't, all of your student instruments have been sewn into abdominal cavities.

I don't believe him, but if you guys do, I'll leave it alone.

I also believe that Jacko has put on a doctor facade for 30,000+ posts just to pull a fast one on some people he doesn't really know on the internet.

Either way, who cares? What Jacko, or anyone else here, does professionally doesn't really matter to me. Let's just talk baseball.

I agree, but he made bigoted comments and used urban legends as his own personal anecdotes which were unrelated to baseball.

I didn't like some of his comments either, but he's far from the first person to say something silly on a message board. Probably best to just take the high road, at least most of the time.

Are you sure he isn't the first? I don't recall ever seeing anything untoward posted in an online community prior to this.
