Slowly but surely it seems the Sox are going back to the offensive approach they had earlier in the season. I suspect it is very likely that Farrell either talked to them individually or collectively as this is just to different to just be coincidence.

Hopefully getting RBI's from somebody other than Ortiz is not some sort of aberration.

I do agree that was an accidentally productive AB by Ortiz. However they were way of the charts the other way just a week or two ago.

Can't tell from TV if this was the case but it is not at all uncommon for the runner to try to draw the throw away from an effort to catch the runner at home when there are two outs. Sox would value the run at this point more than continuing the inning with two outs and this much of a lead.

There is a good chance that is what happened on the WMB play at 3rd. Also the kind of call a 3rd base coach would make.

That's not at all what happened, the throw went to home and then to third where WMB was out by a mile.

That's more accurate. I know he is trying to save the BP but s***!

Wow I am beyond shocked right now.

I thought, ok, give Dempster one more in Carroll then bring in the lefty to face Mauer and Morneau. But to bring in Mortenson??? That's ridiculous both on who they bring in and leaving in Dempster

Dempster made a great pitch that resulted in a bloop single. Can't fault him for that.

He did grind tonight. A good many guys would have just thrown in the towel out of frustration and tossed meatball after meatball up there. Can't be much more of an example of a pitcher just trying to get by on toughness. Six walks in 4 and 2/3's is not exactly what you would see from a pitcher that has it goin' on.

I swear Farrel pointed to his left arm when he went out to get Dempster.:dunno:

I hear ya. Hope our offense continues to rake. This is frustrating.

Glad Morneau missed that one. That was more of a meatball than Dempster threw in over 4 innings of struggling.
