Idk, if Lester can only go 5 against a lineup featuring Vernon Wells bating 5th, not sure how great of a sign that is.

 

I would not call that a great outing against this Yanks line up. Was not that bad though.

 

Lester always seems so fragile on the mound. I really wanted Salty to go out to the mound or Nieves to go out there before he did. Clearly Lester knew he was up in the zone and started aiming the ball as an overreaction. That is just a mistake and not the way to pitch out of that sort of situation. Go out there and get him back on track, settle him down...something. All it needed to be 4-4 was for Nix not to have let that meatball go by. Lester has always been fragile on the mound.....so it is not like all involved...Salty...Nieves should not know this.
