Unrelated, I read this on NESN:

As a result of the addition of Houston to the AL, there will be interleague games spread out during the entire year rather than one series in May and the rest in June. Now you could actually start and end the season playing a National League team.
Our pitchers should become better bunters.

Strange, isn't it, how this team almost always starts to play good baseball on Mothers Day weekend?

Since Friday, 5/11, the Red Sox are 26-15 (.634 W%, 103 win pace over 51 games). If they continue to play at this pace (which, really doesn't seem like it's been all that great to be honest, considering they had a 2-9 streak right smack in the middle of the 51 game stretch), but if they continue to play at this pace, they will win 95 games this year.

Boy. Thank God they won that Cubs game on June 16th. Otherwise the season would be over.

I wish they'd slot WMB between Ortiz and Salty. Then just move everyone else down. Gonzo batting 6th might be the wake up call he needs. Hope it's just a maintenance day for Aviles, I can't stand Punto.

I hope Middlebrooks doesn't let what just happen go to his head (packing Youk's bags to Chicago).

After more pitchers get to have a look at WMB, I expect him to be humbled a little bit.

Wow they have Youk batting second over there. Is nobody hitting for the CWS at all? More appropriately maybe nobody is getting on base over there by any means.

Probably trying to play to his ego to build his confidence "f*** those guys in boston, we know your a top of the lineup guy, we believe in you" and all that s***

Konerko is hitting .342/.417/.563

Dunn has 23 HR.

They've got some mashers.

Yea but Paul is always going to be down farther in the "get the runners home spots right. We would not see Kenerko up there around 2nd in the order I don't think. Maybe the place setters have not been getting it done.

Maybe you are right about the build the confidence thing. Seems to me that Youk has been aiming to be more of a plate the runners guy as opposed to one of the set the table guys. Of course that was not workin' out to good for him here.
