Dropping like a rock

Boras pushing to sell him to the Nats, according to several sources on Twitter (digest with salt). Could be true though, because there's no other way he doesn't go top five.

Stop saying every OF with 3/5 tools is the next Kemp / Jones / Upton.

They're talking about ceiling though. Ceiling means what a kid can become if everything goes right (it rarely does) , not what he will become.

The Pirates? That's some f***ing balls right there.

Maybe they realized it is a weak draft, and went for broke. Best case scenario, they get him, worst case scenario, they get a very good pick in next year's draf.

Giolito can touch triple digits but his UCL strain is scary. Wonder if he'll drop to Sox.

With the success rate of Tommy John surgery, I don't see how that would be a huge long term consideration. If he's hurt, you put him under the knife right away, he's back on a mound by the all star break next year.

I can see it causing him to drop a little, with other top of the rotation talents available, but he's certainly not dropping to the Sox.

It ruined Brackman. It is a risk

I know he almost certainly won't fall' date=' but damn I hope Giolito falls.[/quote']

I'd be thrilled, too. I just can't see him making it through another 8 picks.

He's not healthy, but he'll get there. So we're now looking at the Nats drafting the two biggest can't miss studs in the last decade (or more) in Strasburg and Harper, then drafting the guy who was supposed to be the first pick in this year's draft before he got hurt this year. Giolito could end up being the best pitcher from this draft.

Don't forget Anthony Rendon last year. He's just the 19th ranked prospect by BA. This has been an extraordinary run of 1st round picks for the Nats.

The Nats are going all talent. Good pick' date=' assuming he is healthy[/quote']

Because that's how you should draft. Drafting for needs is a very easy way to get burned.
