No' date=' they're just the O's and you'll be made aware of that when they fall off a cliff sometime in June. They aren't for real.[/quote']

That HR off Albers was for real. Last year folks kept saying that TB would fall off a cliff. Who went to the post season and who didn't?

Beckett I'll give it to you. He does look like an ace. But' date=' although Lester is my favorite player, I don't know if I can call him an ace yet.[/quote']

Lester and Beckett rank 27th and 35th out of 56 among AL pitchers who have pitched more than 40 innings.

I would call both of them mediocre by those statistics.

Neither is an ace.

Well, you can't win them all. This is the best team in the American League afteral....

What the hell am I saying? Its the f***ing Orioles. Six runs in the ninth, please.

we'll be out of the cellar for at least one night. For the first time in a long, long time, I am feeling pretty pessimistic about my team and about the chances that the sox or the yanks make the playoffs. There is definitely a strong chance that the Yanks and Sox are on the outside looking in, and that would be a weird experience

His ERA is close to 3 minus two terrible starts.

I guarantee you that Baltimore is a joke and will fall off a cliff. The talent is not there for them to compete in this division. Win tomorrow and we are still in great shape going home. I know you get a hard-on being a negative little turd but we are playing much better and we are still in good shape going forward in these next few games.

They count, right? Last I checked they count as much as his two best starts.

Beckett's stats are weighted by two horrid outings and someone pointed out that Jon has a sub 3 ERA in his last 5.

2 bad starts as opposed to 6 good ones is what the educated call an outlier or an aberration. Halladay has gotten his ass handed to him in his last few starts, is he no longer an ace?

I'm not saying he is an ace right now, but he is better than mediocre.

That's what happens when you leave relievers in for 30+ pitches. Albers was doing really well before thatl.

True, but I will always hate that guy. No matter what he was doing he'll never get off my s*** list.

So you want to eliminate 25% of his starts this year. I get it. But sorry; they ALL count

No pitcher pitches well every single game. There are always bad games.

He is middle of the pack when you compare him to other pitchers in the AL with at least 40 innings pitched. Thats what the stats say right now. Maybe he will get better statistically, but thats the way it is right now.

Just because he plays for the Red Sox does not make him better than pitchers who play for other teams. You have to support that assertion with stats IMO.
