He would have been an offensive monster in Boston' date=' though[/quote']He would have hit some balls way over the Monster for sure. If CC could have played RF, Quentin probably wouldn't have done too much damage in LF.

Another RH RFer eliminated from consideration by the Sox.

I've never been a big fan of Quentin coming to Fenway. He would have been a disaster in RF.

With your second post kinda makes the first one unecessary:dunno:

Padres have some depth at P in the minors. They were going to start losing some of these guys in the Rule 5 draft anyways. Now they can hold onto Carlos for a few months, hope he hits well, then flip him at the deadline for a prospect or 2 at a position of greater needed. He could also be flipped before the season.

On the surface Williams seems inconsistent, but this is a good trade. One of the guys was at one time highly touted and the other guys is a possible SP. Quentin is a streaky hitter that plays bad defense and has leg issues. Williams saves 7.5M, has a possible cheaper replacement that could produce at similar levels. Or he could have just made enough room financially to make a serious run at Cepedes.

Who cares if he eliminated from consideration for the Sox if he would be a disaster in RF?
I didn't say that I cared that he was eliminated from consideration just that he was eliminated. There had been stories and blurbs since last season that Quentin was a possible Sox target. None of those articles or blurbs said that their information was relevant only if A700 liked the idea of getting him. We need a right handed OFer. Quentin is no longer a possibility. That's just part of today's news. I am glad of that development. So, I still don't know what kind of point you are trying to make or shot you are trying to give.

Third person does not suit you or anyone for that matter. (first bolded part)

Then, you never will. (second bolded part)

Hey you are the one that made the news in the first post somehow relevant to my opinion of it. It was just a statement of fact. He was eliminated as a possibility. You somehow said that it was an irrelevant post because I would not have liked him in our OF. Whether I would have loved or hated the Sox to get him is not really relevant to the fact that he is no longer an option. You made it about me, hence my mockingly referring to myself in the third person. I guess you didn't pick up on the mocking part.

Sure, it isn't an offseason possibility, but there is a good chance they'll be shopping him again at midseason. This is a buy low, sell high situation right here.
