NFL Redraft (Sign up on Talkpats)

Hey guys, I wanted to gauge interest for a football redraft. The last one we did had 15 different teams and the voting lasted all the way until we had a winner (Yankees228 was the winner beating my team in the finals)

 

Now we have some new posters on Talksox and Talkpats so I think this would work. Especially on Talkpats where a lot of the posters have a clear football interest, so people here might actually know how to build a team. (In the last redraft we had to explain the difference between a 4-3 and a 3-4 defense)

 

My idea was to do the redraft at the end of this season, and we'd draft players to build a team with for the coming season. There'd be backups in case of injury, and plenty of room for discretion when building your offense, defense and special teams. I'm thinking somewhere between 12-16 teams will be ideal. Let me know if you're interested.

Hopefully there will be plenty of names in the hat in the near future. If demand skyrockets we'll have to start it sooner. Not that I mind.

Kilo isnt much involved with the forum anymore. Yankeshater isnt that active anymore. Id love to have them though.

We're up to 8 teams at the moment. While I planned on starting this after the season, I'd be more than happy to start it sooner if people are interested. We'd just need a few more (ideally 4-8) more teams before we get started.

It was NFL, but I can start it earlier. I'd like to start it in a couple weeks after my licensing exam (I don't feel good about it at all at this point) but it'll depend on how many people join and if anyone in the league has any opinions or input.

I'm pretty sure that Y228 is a member of Talkpats, and he'll be a welcome addition to the draft, considering that he won the last one.

We're always looking for more people to join. I'd be happy to have him aboard, he just needs to indicate interest.

 

Also as soon as we can get a few more teams in we can talk about when to start. I'd hope to have this started at the latest in a few weeks.

Sounds fine to me, we'd need at least 1 more team, I'd ultimately prefer to have 16 teams, but if we can't that, then we can start earlier with 12.

It's like, but not exactly fantasy football. This is about drafting a REAL team, with many positions that aren't in fantasy football. Similarly, there are players that are great in reality but aren't that good in fantasy football, and vice versa, so a great fantasy team might end up near the bottom of the reality team rankings.
