Way to go Josh. Beckett did not even throw a waste pitch 0-2. That was the straight change again that he struck the guy out on it. Down in the zone....a great pitch....up in the zone......I think I could hit it.

9/11 jokes are never funny under any circumstances IMO. So you were about 12 when it happened 10 years ago. I was 36. Maybe you'll see things different when you are older.

 

I am rarely offended by anything. Even when BTR and another poster were joking that there is nothing wrong with rape. But 9/11, never.

Dark humor does not mean insanity, I'm a proud American, I absolutely despise the people who were responsible for 9/11 (I'm not going to get into who's responsible, because that's a argument that will go nowhere) and I will always remember the day it happened. I have hard feelings about 9/11, but there's a difference between a joke and saying "The US deserved what they got on 9/11 HAHAHAHAHA!!!!" or something hateful like that. I would even say that's f***ed up, but this is a joke.

That's the thing, is there's a double standard there, and I don't see the moral difference between joking about 9/11, cancer, rape, or anything else like that.

 

Just because it's 9/11 doesn't give it extra protection from jokes.

 

Is it okay to joke about cancer or AIDS? You watch south park, who've made several episodes poking fun at AIDS and cancer. It causes death, even moreso than 9/11.

 

The fact that I was 12 doesn't mean anything, I remember it vividly, and it was a tragedy. No one's disputing it. But I think it's pretty bad that we have to demonize someone because they joked about 9/11, to the point where we're questioning their sanity.
