I have tickets to game 2 of todays double header. Just wondering what everyone thinks about wether the game will get played or not. I will end up making the drive anyways but was looking for some Boston locals for some insight. Any chance they might cancel it a couple hours in advance if the rain looks to be steady all night? thanks for the input. GO SOX

I'm in RI and it rained here for about 45 min, heavy rain. Now the sun is out but it's horribly oppressive and humid. I think they'll get it in unless it pours, but reports are just showers.

I posted this in H11AM thread, but I'm counting on game 2 being cancelled. I bought cheaaaap tickets for game 2 an hour ago, and I have absolutely no intention to go to the game tonight. I'm 10 miles from Fenway, and it is absolutely pouring here, and its supposed to pour all night.

I think you may get your wish. the grounds are gonna be in rough shape and it seems the rain is sticking around Boston. The sun is out here..the calm before the strorm

That is what they were just saying that Oakland wouldnt come back to make up this game because they do not come anywhere near Boston for the remainder of the season. What would happen to everyone including me that has tickets to tonights game??

More than likely they will either refund the tickets, or they will make it up between the regular season and the postseason.

yea I had originally heard they would make it up but there is only 1 day after the reg season and they said that most likely won't happen...damn I want to see a game, not get a refund...o well

If it comes down to potentially making the playoffs, it will be made up and they will push the start of the playoffs back. I've seen it happen before. in 2008, a White Sox-Guardians game got rained out. MLB decided that the game would only be made up at the end of the season if it had playoff implications. The White finished the season 1/2 game behind the Twins, so the makeup game was on. They won that game, forcing a one game playoff against the Guardians.
