Keep your expectations in check. This will be Bedard's second start since coming off the disabled list. He threw 57 pitches last Friday and came out in the second inning. If he goes five innings and/or 80 pitches tonight, that would be a nice progression.

Those fundamentals are helping a lot seeing as they went from 31-15 to hovering around .500 in a matter of a couple months. All half of the people here do is bitch, bitch, and bitch just a little bit more. When things are going good, everyone's happy. When they hit the slightest rough patch or lose one f***ing game, everyone flips out and jumps overboard like the Sox are a sinking ship. It's insane and the rest of us have to deal with the BS. Wait until we actually have a fatal flaw to stick a gun in your mouth, all of you pessimistic SOB's.

Most pitchers have significantly higher velocity out of the bullpen because it's in short spurts and doesn't have to be saved over 6-7 innings.
