I was at today's game and despite the rain delay and the damp cool weather that followed, the Sox played well and even though he did not get a save opportunity, I always enjoy Papelbon's entrance.

It is the greatest entrance in Boston sports history. I guess my really good mood has me chuckling at things that I wouldn't otherwise chuckle at.

Either no one else has an entrance or they just aren't trying...

It's the song and Papelbon milks the entrance to psyche himself up. I used to enjoy the entrance even more when it started out with Wild Thing and switched to Shipping Up to Boston when he reached the skin part of the IF. Have you seen in person Papelbon pitch at Fenway?

I did, last season. I guess I'm speaking from bias though because I saw him blow a save and lose the game. It was the end of the season so people were already full of his crap last year and no one was excited to see him come in. He ended up getting booed off the field.

Considering your struggles this year and all
Yes, true. It's been a rough year. I guess that's why seeing a win at Fenway felt so good today. That, plus my daughter graduated from Northeastern on Friday with a degree in Chemical Engineering. My dad was would have been so proud. That was his field, and traditionally, it has not been a big field for women.

Bringing up a guy with a .450 OPS in AAA serves what purpose, exactly?

His OPS is .531. Jeter's OPS is about .550. But their careers are heading in opposite directions.

His OPS was in the .400s today before a 3 hit day today. I didn't realize Navarro had hurt himself, but the point is, this kid isn't ready. I say it constantly, but it drives me crazy when the Sox bring up players early.

Scutaro injured; Jose Iglesias 'likely' to be called up tomorrow

Marco Scutaro was pinch hit for in the eighth inning today and is dealing with an injury to his left rib cage. According to a report by Sports Illustrated's Melissa Segura on Twitter, the Red Sox are considering calling up 21-year-old Jose Iglesias tomorrow.

A Major League source has since told the Globe that Iglesias was "likely" to be added to the roster tomorrow.

Iglesias was 3 for 4 for Class AAA Pawtucket this afternoon in Scranton, Pa., and is en route to Boston in case Scutaro is placed on the disabled list. WEEI.com reported that Scutaro isn't sure what the injury is.

Iglesias is hitting .253 with a .278 on-base percentage and no extra-base hits in 24 games for the PawSox. But he is advanced defensively.

Yamaico Navarro, who made his MLB debut last season, would have been an ideal replacement for Scutaro given his experience, versatility and the fact he was swinging the bat well for Pawtucket. But he was placed on the Pawtucket DL yesterday with a strained oblique.
