I didn't see the details, but it will probably work out to be 13 million for his last arbitration year, and 18x4 after that. 18 million year is still pretty good.

 

And 2012 is actually a time when there will be a TON of elite pitchers on the market.

 

Matt Cain, Chris Carpenter, Cole Hamels, Zach Greinke, Shaun Marcum, John Danks, Colby Lewis, Liriano.

Wow guys, I mentioned ten pitchers, and you nitpick the back of the list? You do realize there are more aces on that list than there have been in the last three years combined, right? Cliff Lee, Sabathia, John Lackey, A.J. Burnett, Carl Pavano have been the best five pitchers going into FA from 2009-2011.

Colby Lewis has had a 3.80 ERA the last two years, pretty much the same age, the same division as a guy that got 80 million in 2010 for being a 3.80 ERA starter.

 

Liriano was the ace for a playoff team last year... I sort of just forgot that he sucks this year:lol:

 

But the rest of that list is very good. John Danks/Shaun Marcum would be an exceptional #2 starter for pretty much any team, and the other four are legit aces.
