Bryce Cox, Aaron Bates, and Ryan Khoury were let go yesterday. Does anyone remember back in 2008, when there was a push for Cox to close for the sox, assuming Paps moved to the rotation?

Yes, that was the year after Eric Duncan was going to take over 3B as ARod moved over to DH.

Duncan was drafted before the Yanks even traded for ARod. But yes, he was hyped ridiculously. Regardless, the thing that was striking about Cox was that in 2007, the season after he was drafted, guys like Gammons and other sox lackeys were talking about him being the team closer to start the yr in 2007 even though he had only played 13 games in long season.

Which is no different than the Yankee lackeys who were propping Duncan up to a level he hadn't earned, and was my point all along. These people exist for every team. It's not worth it to throw rocks at those that do it for the team you don't like because there are others that do it for the team you do like.

He is being used like a tool.

Recent years? He's been a mouthpiece for decades, IMO. That's part of a very typical tradeoff. He has access most don't, so he gets scoop most don't, and the tradeoff is he prints a lot of what they want out there. This is fairly common. Heyman is a mouthpiece for Boras, which his how he tends to have the best info about what a Boras client is going to do.

Gammons might be entering into the first stages of dementia.

He has not been the same since he popped a blood vessel in his brain.

In his earlier days, his information was more reliable.
