We have a Red Sox thread but how about outside of the Sox?

Some off the top of my head

1-Mark Buerle opening day through the legs for the out

2-Yankees lose 22-4 to the Guardians

3-Yankees miss the playoffs in 2008

4-Ken Griffey Jr hits his 600th HR

More to come.

There was a game back in I think 2007 when Hughes shut down the Guardians, then Joba came in for the 8th and blew them away and Mo closed the door. I remember listening to the radio in the car after the game and the Guardians announcers were livid that the Yankees had young talent arms and wanted a revenue sharing system set up for minor leagues too where the bottom five teams can select one player from the top 5 teams farm system a year... it was so stupid I laughed for two weeks.

As long as we're both in the AL Redsoxrules' date=' we'll never beat the Yankees in the WS ;)[/quote']

By shutting the door against the Yankees in world series, I think he meant when Beckett was on the Marlins and dominated the Yankees in the world series in 03'.

2003 world series, The Sosa/Mcguire home run race, Bonds setting the home run record, all the no hitters/perfect games last year.

Yes I know 2 of those have to do with steriods, but save the bitching for someone who cares because I still found it enjoyable.

Jose Canseco. Anything he's ever done in his career, post-career.

Gary Sheffield smacking a Red Sox fan before throwing the ball in from right field.

Ted Williams at 1999 All-Star Game. Amazing moment.

And best of all:

Joba Chamberlain and the bugs.

Nuff said.

I'm in foul baseball mood so I think I need to post this.

The thread would probably be more interesting if the topic was favorite baseball moments not including the Yankees or the Red Sox. So here are mine...

2002 World Series Game 6 - Angels comeback

2003 NLCS Game 6 - 8 runs in the 8th for the Marlins

2005 NLCS Game 5 - Pujols off Lidge in the 9th

Baseball has been really short on great playoff games lately ... and, to me, that's the best part about any sport.

Pedro at the '99 All-Star game

Clemens getting the s*** kicked out of him at Fenway in the '99 ALCS and the "Rogerrrr!" chant.

That August game in 2000 against the (Devil) Rays, when Pedro hit Gerald Williams, who charged the mound and incited a brawl. He then proceeded to take a no-hitter into the 9th while Tampa was preoccupied with trying to hit Brian Daubach.

The june 2003 game against the Marlins in which we scored 10 runs before recording an out.

Opening day 2005 at Fenway when Rivera got a long standing ovation as he was introduced.

Manny serving as Damon's cut-off man

Manny making a great catch, high-fiving a fan, and still doubling off the baserunner.

Lester's no-hitter.

I guess those were all red sox. My thread discipline sucks

Bonds' HR in that game was insane.

Yeah, the two he hit in Angel Stadium that year (Game 2 and 6) were incredible. Two thirds of the way up the RCF seats.
