New seats, new video boards, and the potential for the bullpens to be extended into the field of play which would shorten the right field fence.

"Once we do this, we are told by our engineers and architects that Fenway Park will be suitable for the exhibition of baseball and other events for another 30 or 40 years."

Sweet. Maybe they can straighten out some of the seats a tic and eliminate the couple of "extra" narrow rows in the RF boxes

Also they said MLB may make them move the RF fence to moved in because the bullpens are too small. 21 feet when they need to be 27 feet.

6 feet seems pretty significant. It's pretty often that a ball makes it right to the wall... Wonder what the impact on HRs will be.

I wonder too. I hope the mlb doesnt make it happen. The thing i read said thatt since Fenway is a landmark it may not allow them to change the distance

A landmark commission (or whatever they may be called) is not likely to vote against this.

Henry and his crew are well liked in this area. Look at all the changes they have made to Fenway. How were they able to do it?

I am against changing the geometry of the playing field. I really love watching Abreu (sp) chasing balls dribblers along the rf corner. An 8-10 ft. out cropping is a significant change.

I don't look forward to changing the character of the game at Fenway.

same here , HATE the move.

JD who had the RF mastered IMO , will have to re-adjust now

The Impact will probably be fairly significant IMO. Fenway will probably become a HR ballpark instead of a doubles ballpark. I think it will be really interesting. I guess this is the meet in the middle scenario between the fans that want to keep Fenway and the fans that wouldn't mind a new stadium? I am certain the effects non effects will make for great debate on the site :D
