Yea.....

Well, I really don't care if you play a 7-0 (it's your team), but your personnel is much better suited for a 4-3 defense. Other people will likely hold this against you.

I agree, but in all fairness, is THIS going to be what dooms suns team? Like he had a realistic shot of winning anyway?

Yeah I know, but playing the right defense should at least make his team respectable. And hey, maybe suns will come up with some crazy offensive and defensive schemes that will wow us...

Wow good or Wow bad?

I'm not sure that that's that big of a deal.

In this case, that's probably a good point, as a DT going from a 3-4 to a 4-3 isn't that difficult a transition. However, if possible, I think it's a good idea to draft a player that is used to playing the system that he's going to play on your team.

I agree, going from a 3-4 to a 4-3 is much easier than going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 (from a DT perspective, as with ILB's I believe it's the opposite)

Another thing I pay attention to (that not everyone does) is what side they play on. For example, LOLB vs. ROLB, or left DE vs. right DE etc. It's not a huge deduction, but it's worth noting. In any case Suns, you should try to match what position the players you draft play on the field compared to what position they play on your team.

Agreed on all counts.

Orton is still 27, and having a career year, so I'm glad to get him at this point in the draft. And thanks yankees for letting me know you're planning to get a QB, I thought we weren't doing backups and I would've gotten screwed

No problem, I didn't want you guys to end up with a poor QB.

I didn't realize how late people were going to take running backs, I'm stunned I got Arian Foster in like round 18 as a #2 running back. If I had known how far a top 5 back in the league was going to fall I would have just drafted a QB instead of Adrian Peterson round 2

I can only speak for myself, but I view most running backs as a product of their offensive line. Granted, some like AP and CJ make some of their own yards, but a good offensive line can really help an average running back.

EDIT: I think many of us are used to taking running backs early because of fantasy football, but in a draft like this, I don't think that's the best direction to go in.

I agree, I wouldn't have picked Ray Rice in the 2nd round had I known a lot of good RB's would have fallen. That said, I wouldn't really consider Arian Foster to be a top 5 running back, in case that's what you were implying.
