Watching Bill Hall field balls and take hacks against righties is one of the most painful things I've ever seen.

 

Those two HRs that bring his H/PA rate to about where he was in 06 sure are painful.

Yeah, did you see his first AB? He looked pretty clueless until he got fed a pitch down the middle. Not that I mind seeing Hall on occasion, but he's received a lot more playing time at second than he should, given how well Lowrie's been hitting/fielding.

Also, HR/FB rate in 2006: 19.4%. HR/FB rate in 2010: 18.1%. Career mark: 13.4%...seeing a trend here?

I say it all the time, but advance stats don't mean anything if a player is performing. Pedroia is going to be back by the time those stats catch up with him.
