Buchholz joined Lester this week as a crucial starting pitcher who has recently had a first child. Hopefully he can handle it a bit better than Lester has.

Time for Drew to step it up. A little pop from this guy would be nice. He has the ability to make up some of the offense that they are going to miss from Youk.

The Red Sox have lost all four of Buchholz career starts against the Yankees. This needs to be changed. Vazquez is 2-7 with a 4.34 ERA in 10 career starts vs the Red Sox. That is fine with me. We need to sweep these damn Yankees. How nice would it be to have the rights to brag about sweeping them and being that much closer to a playoff spot?

In all fairness, Buchholz has a tough time against the Yankees, but he has a 1.93 ERA against tampa.

i agree, i would love for drew to heat up and he obviously has more talent than he's shown so far this year.

 

he's hit .357/.438/.857 with 4 home runs and 2 doubles against javier vazquez and he's hitting .308/.397/.548 against righties this year. time for him to make himself useful

you're right. i'll fix that. drew has been anemic against lefties this season which is why he's struggled so much overall

not a bad idea. i'd consider running hall out there with the small right field in yankee stadium when we face sabathia. he's hit pretty well against lefties this year

If Cameron can come back soon and JD still can't hit LHP, I might use Kalish as the Platoon hitter in RF.

I'm not holding my breath. He has done little to help throughout the Sox injury plagued season. Other than take time off for "vertigo" and leg cramps. Really, he's a right fielder, not a defensive back, receiver, or running back.

 

He's the Sox most expensive position player. Suck it up and lead your team.
