I don't think you should be so down on the guy. Personally I thought it was one of the better errors I've seen all season...

A real shame that Lester is on the wrong end of this one...

Playing the Eric Patterson's and Kevin Cash's of the world is finally catching up to us post-all star break. The offense has gone in the tank.

Lester was on a perfect game going into the 6th inning. That catch should have been an out. The reason everyone is pissed is because he should have caught it. Had it been a diving catch then it would be understandable. If i recall i think we had 2 outs. So that catch would have sealed the inning and the home run by Saunders would have never happened.

There was 1 out, but the game is completely different if he just catches the ball.

This team is terrible with runners on base. If Eric Patterson and Kevin Cash is the best that the Sox have then you deserve to lose. Has anybody else noticed that the Sox can not get a hit off of any other team's bullpen no matter how bad they are.

You know, we all ripped on Steinbrenner, but he would NEVER let this happen to the Yankees. He would do what ever it took to keep the team competitive through injuries. Theo's attitude "We'll just try to ride it out." Great strategy....

Manny DelCarmen shows off his other talents. When not busy throwing wood seeking meatballs down the heart of the plate, he excels at walking in runs via hitting batters.

HI THEO. HALF YOUR LINEUP SUCKS AND YOUR BULLPEN IS TERRIBLE. FEEL FREE TO MAKE A TRANSACTION WHENEVER YOU'RE READY.

It's one account, faggot. But fine, enjoy your thought provoking comments such as I WANTED HIM TO GET A HIT BUT HE DIDN'T LOL, very enlightening material you have on this board. I'll take my leave now

Dear Theo Epstein,

DO SOMETHING.

Sincerely,

Everybody

I think everyone needs to come to grips with the fact that we probably aren't going out and selling the farm for a big time player at the trade deadline. Our additions are going to come from within when we get back Pedroia, Martinez (likely Monday), Ellsbury, Varitek, etc. Are we going to be out of it by then? I hope not, but I just don't see a big move happening for this team at the deadline, and given what a lot of teams are probably asking for in return I'd be willing to bet Theo is making the right decision.

I realize that a big move probably wouldn't be in the best interest for the future, but I'm sure there are small moves they can make to improve this team right now. If this is seriously the best our farm ('within') has to offer, perhaps it's not as talented and deep as we seem to think. I'll be extremely irate if the gigantic season that Beltre is having just goes to complete waste.

I'd rather try to ride it out than making a panic move and regretting it for years to come.

One out, I think. He over ran the ball. Scrub f***.

The trade deadline isn't til next Saturday. Lets see what happens over the next seven days. I'm pissed we're struggling too, but I'm going to wait it out and see what goes down.

It's no secret that a large portion of our prospects are on the lower level minor league teams right now. There's no Daniel Bard, Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, etc that is going to pop up in August or July. It would be nice, but it goes in cycles.

I'm not suggesting they try to go get all-stars, I'm stating that I don't believe this is the best they could do without giving up talent. Cash might be the worst catcher in all of baseball, I can't believe there isn't a single viable option. Nava was performing well and then they go back to Hermida, who can't field or hit. Their pen is a disaster and absolutely needs help, for both now and the future. They've used McDonald vs righties, which I thought was a mistake from day one, and it's hurting the team. These are all problems which shouldn't be too hard to improve upon. Even a small improvement in all of these areas, or even just a few, could make a big difference.
