If the all-star voting doesn't drastically change, it might be the most laughable all-star game in history. I thought it was bad when a seriously injured Nomar was the leading vote-getter for an all-star game he clearly couldn't play in, but it's getting to ridiculous levels now.

Just examining the list, the top 3 NL OF are 1. Braun, 2. Heyward, 3. Ethier. Braun as the #1 is a big stretch, Heyward shouldn't even be on the list, and Ethier should be the clear #1. Whats even more disturbing is the fact that neither Corey Hart, nor Colby Rasmus are on the ballot, despite the fact that they are in the top 3 in OPS. The fact that Holliday and Ludwick are on the ballot and Rasmus isn't is incredibly insulting.

For SS you have Rollins ahead of Tulowitski, despite the fact that he's only played 12 games this season.

3B is arguably even more of a joke than OF. Zimmerman has the highest OPS among 3B and is having a great season yet is left off the ballot. Polanco is the leading vote getter when he doesn't even deserve to be on the ballot. Chipper Jones doesn't belong on the ballot either.

2B Chase Utley has the lead and is having a good season, but with 4 guys playing better, he really doesn't belong in the lead. Kelly Johnson has had arguably the best season at 2B so far this season and yet again, isn't on the ballot.

1B is actually pretty solid, but I think Dunn should be on the ballot.

The AL ballot is a lot more reasonable, except for a few Yankee/Sox players who don't belong (Tex on the ballot, really?).

I know everyone realizes that the All-star game is just a popularity contest but I hate the fact that it's lost it's meaning.

The Rollins thing is the most ridiculous to me. Fans vote for the big names, not necessarily for the players that deserve it. Players having breakout years are rarely rewarded, it takes a few years for the curve to catch up.

With the expanded roster, and so many opportunities to play, the only players that really get missed are the borderline ones. 68 players get in, its not like this is voting for an mvp, and that doesn't include the starters who started recently, and the injury replacements.

Fans get 18 of 68, and players, coaches, and managers get the other 50. 50-- count them 50-- are by their peers. If none of those people like a player, they're either a jerk and all those groups didn't want them there, or they're just not good enough.

My Analysis on the Entire American League

1st Base

1.Justin Morneau He's been good, not as good as Cabrera though

2.Mark Teixeira Yeah he probably shouldn't be here

3.Miguel Cabrera He's been sick, he should be #1

4.Kevin Youkilis He's been sick as well, probably should be #2

5.Carlos Pena Half of his hits are like HR's haha, well not really but it seems like it

Honorable Mentions (people who should be up here but aren't): Paul Konerko

Ty Wigginton, he's been pretty good and WILL make it because one person from each team in the MLB has to make and NO one else on the Orioles has been good

2nd Base

1.Robinson Cano He's been godly

2.Dustin Pedroia He's been alright

3.Ian Kinsler A big name but a guy who isn't playing too well

4.Orlando Hudson On the DL, not bad when off of it

5.Ben Zobrist He's been pretty good, he's actually probably been the 2nd best 2B in the AL so far

3rd Base

1.Evan Longoria He's absolutely GODLY

2.Alex Rodriguez Been pretty good but not necessarily #2 worthy

3.Michael Young He's been really good, he'll probably get in as a backup

4.Adrian Beltre He's been pretty good as well, not as good as Young though

5.Nick Punto Yeah, what's he doing here?

Shortstop

1.Derek Jeter Having another solid year, best AL SS

2.Elvis Andrus Close 2nd to being the best SS

3.J.J. Hardy sucks

4.Alex Gonzalez pretty good so far, has some nice power, should be #3

5.Jason Bartlett on DL, has sucked so far

Note: There have not been many good SS's at ALL this year

Catcher

1.Joe Mauer Obvious #1

2.Jorge Posada He's been very good when he's played, 9 HR and .290 average

3.Victor Martinez He's been solid, 8 HR .295 average

4.Taylor Teagarden WTF

5.Mike Napoli Has some nice power

Honorable: Kurt Suzuki, he's been good when he's played and is the best player on the A's

Designated Hitter

1.Vladmir Guerrero He's been filthy this year

2.Hideki Matsui He's had some power

3.Ken Griffey Jr. WTF

4.David Ortiz Has a lot of power, no avg

5.Jason Kubel Hasn't been too good, a little power though

Outfield

1.Ichiro Suzuki Good but not top 5 worthy, whether he deserves ASG is iffy

2.Nelson Cruz Been great when he's played, but always injured, whether he deserves ASG is also iffy due to his little playing time

3.Carl Crawford Been very good, should definitely start

4.Josh Hamilton Been playing fantastic 16 HR .320 should definitely start

5.Nick Swisher He's been good, probably should be on the bench in the ASG

6.Torii Hunter A little worse than Swisher, ASG is iffy

7.Curtis Granderson Yeah, he shouldn't be here

8.Brett Gardner A nice surprise for the Yankees, may make the bench, he and Swisher both have a shot and are pretty worthy

9.Vernon Wells Having a great year, should definitely make the team

10.B.J. Upton No, he's hitting like .240

11.Michael Cuddyer Been decent, not top 15 though

12.Bobby Abreu no

13.Denard Span no

14.Magglio Ordonez been great, possible bench player

15.Austin Jackson no, has sucked since start

SUPER EPIC HONORABLE MENTION: Alex Rios, the best outfielder in the MAJORS THIS SEASON, WTF IS HE NOT DOING STARTING

Honorable: Jose Bautista is on pace for about 40 HR, but he's wearing off

I'll do the NL later, this was time consuming

My starting lineup:

Crawford LF

Jeter SS

Longoria 3B

Miggy 1B

Cano 2B

Vlad DH

Hamilton CF

Mauer C

Rios RF
