I feel like it's location and throwing too many fastballs. He doesn't have a FB he can blow by people, so if he doesn't mix it up enough, he can get hit really hard.

 

So far this game:

Crawford singled on a 4th straight cutter, down and outside. Not a bad pitch, but 4 straight cutters is probably pushing it, though I don't have a scouting report.

 

Zobrist singled on a cutter down the middle of the plate

 

Blalock singled on a CB down the middle

 

and Pena walked.

 

So right now its pretty much too many FB and bad location.
