is it just me or was yankee stadium half empty lastnight ?

 

Yankee Stadium was the emptiest I've ever seen it for a Red Sox series the last two nights. I think a large part of it is the fact that the Yankees charge such ridiculous prices for the good seats, and another part of it is that it seems like many of the Yankees fans in the good seats like to get there late and leave early.

I just think its hilarious that Drew will absolutely need to be taken out of a game with some injury or something, and the next day, he'll be fine. Better than a full season injury sure, but the 24 hour injuries are just odd.

For me this series shows that this team has a lot of heart. In both games not giving up after being down 5-0 in both. A Save by Paps in Game 1 and we would have taken both. I will certainly take the split.

 

Yeah--the lineup has been impressive. Papi looks like a hitter again. Youks, VMart etc.

 

They came back from that Papelbon disaster to win--shows some heart. Wonder what Tito would have done if Pap blew another? The answer would have come from the FO.

Drew does his job and lets the manager know if something is wrong , then the manager makes the decision to take him out of the game or keep playing him

I just think its really strange that he's so hurt he needs to come out of the game, but then is perfectly fine within 24 hours. When I have minor sprains and injuries related to exercise they take 3-5 days to heal.

I think this is a good thing. Drew being up front about his tweaks and minor dings, and the front office being cautious with his injuries has allowed him to stay relatively healthy over his contract with the Red Sox.

 

Like multiple other posters said, I'd rather he miss 2 innings than try to play hurt and miss a month.

JD Drew is what he is. So what if he has a minor injury and misses the occasional few innings/game, he is one of the biggest contributors to this team over 162 games and without him, we'd be up a creek.
