Last time I checked this is just a forum on Red Sox baseball. Most people post on here for fun' date=' they aren't trying to impress people and aren't working on the next most important piece of literature. Anyone who takes a freakin baseball forum too seriously either has major confidence issues or has way too much time on their hands.[/quote']

Calm down internet Freud. I have neither confidence issues nor a large amount of spare time. You know what else I don't have? Patience for idiocy.

Oh' date=' and I'm not being the punctuation police. I noticed meticulous attention to detail in making sure you got the stress on all the words you wanted to, to varying degrees of stress with the caps, and the bold, and heaven forbid, he really means it, the italics bold, I just thought incongruous for the punctuation to be so perfunctory. That's all.[/quote']

"The trajectory of the ball was too high..."

You can't infer really anything about someone just by what they post on an internet forum like this. Especially given the fact that is a sports forum, a lot of the post tend to be emotional, reactionary, etc. That's to be expected, being a "fan" means being emotionally invested. You don't have to act rationally or reasonable all the time, sports for 99.9% of people are an escape from the everyday world. This is as casual a forum as it gets.

And you still think I care about the punctuation.

The "sports as entertainment" argument.

Ok, then, tell me this. Why aren't you psychoanalyzing the guy who is griping his face off for partaking in an escape that he is clearly not finding much enjoyment in?

*Sigh* You're correct.

Just the emotions of the game. I should get some leeway because of the strange occurence of Bill Hall actually doing something awesome after all the heat i took for defending the acquisition.

Human emotion is a very VERY complicated thing. As for sports fans in general, enduring the painful runs/seasons can make the rewarding games/seasons even better. Some people also simple enjoy pain and misery. I don't quite understand it, but it's just one of the many complexities of human emotion.

Think of it this way, have you ever been extremely frustrated by a hobby of yours (music, sports, etc) but realized that in the end, the hard work will pay off? It's no different.
