Exactly, Atchison should be last guy we use in a tied game, he is absolutely horrible. Manny Delcarmen should of started inning and there is no way whatsoever to defend Francona's idiotic decision. It makes no sense.

Tito is very much akin to Torre. A great media and team manager, but a horrible in-game manager. Once the personell starts to take a downward dip, the manager becomes exposed. He is a really bad in game manager.

So the reporters obviously ask him why he decided to go to Atchison and Schoensuck rather than starting the inning with Delcarmin and he COMPLETELY avoids the question. "Well, we had Atichson ready and Schoensuck right behind him so it was a matter of who was ready to go. I thought Schoensuck could throw strikes and we didn't anticipate the inning would turn out as it did." YOU MOTHER f***ER. OWN UP TO YOUR DECISION. We KNOW Atchison and Schoensuck warmed before MDC... IT WAS YOUR DECISION TO GO TO THEM FIRST. Don't just say "Oh they were ready." f***ing own it.

 

Also, shame on the reports for not having integrity and calling him out on it. When will journalists grow some balls again and look for the truth. If I was in that room I would have called him out immediately "You didn't answer our question. YOU are the one who called the pen to start warming Atchison and Schoenwise before MDC. We want to know WHY you made that decision. Please don't beat around the bush again."

His worth to the red sox is as a media and lockerroom manager. As a strategist, he probably loses you 4-5 games a yr. Once your team no longer needs their egos managed, they can get some younger blood in there and maybe the sox manager could win them 4-5 games a yr. Same with Torre. When the Yankees were stacked, we didnt need a good manager. When they started to thin out a bit, we needed a better strategist. Girardi isnt the best strategist, but he makes Torre look like a moron.
