I watched it too' date=' and I distinctly remember him throwing a couple pitches 97 and 98mph.[/quote']

I watched it on the Mariners feed. 93-94 topping out at 96.

It was on ESPN

Well here i watched it on a Network called CDN (before i had MLB.TV) IIRC, they got some sort of away feed for that game, but i'm 100% certain the announcers in the background were not the same as the ones in ESPNLA.

Anyway guys, point being that he then had, and had when we acquired him, substantially more velocity than he now has, thanks to a string of injuries which are probably on his refusal to fully adjust to an American baseball paradigm.

and when a guy's velocity drops that much and his command, once one of his major assets, suffers that much, there's probably a shoulder related reason why. The fact that he's rehabbed that shoulder twice and the problem hasn't gone away probably suggests that it's structural.

The longer Daisuke drags his feet getting that problem taken care of the less we'll get out of him

When he returns, what will the rotation be? I hate to say, but Wake has earned the spot. Dice K would not be effective out of the pen considering his high whip, and I'm not sure that Buccholz would be effective in the pen. I think we are out of options on Buccholz, so he can't be sent down.We could use a good long man in the pen.

You would prefer to have Buchholz in the pen and Wake starting? What? I love Wakefield, but Buchholz has the potential to have a very good year and is the future of this rotation (unless he gets traded). I would move Wake to the pen and give Dicek the 5 spot in the rotation. If we don't have a spot for him in the pen, well, to bad I guess. I only want Wakefield in the rotation over DiceK/Buchholz if they are really struggling.

He's healthier than he has been in a couple of years and he has pitched well. management would be hard pressed to send him to the pen. I have not stated an opinion, because I don't know what would be the best move.

Oh, alright. I thought you were advocating moving Buccholz out of the rotation, guess my reading comp skills were a little weak this morning. Maybe I shouldn't post straight out of bed.
